Cappelli Law Group, LLP chosen to represent Wood County, WV in state court opioid lawsuit
The Wood County Commission of West Virginia voted Monday to join 12 other counties in a statewide lawsuit against opioid manufacturers and distributors. The county has chosen to be represented by Cappelli Law Group, LLP.
Cappelli Law Group, LLP made presentations alongside another law firm from Charleston to the Wood County Commission last Thursday.
The firms differed on whether a suit against manufacturers and retailers should be part of a multi-county federal case currently based in Ohio or heard locally.
“It can’t be a determination made in Cleveland, Ohio,” stated Marc Bern of Cappelli Law Group, LLP. “It can’t be made by a judge there, or a jury there. It must be made here.”
